Playing for Change: Stand By Me

Written by Grumpy Old Man

It’s when I experience things like this video I’m about to share with you that I get all weird inside and stuff, so I can’t talk or write good no more… and stuff… ITS FREAKING AWESOME AND IF YOU DON’T WATCH IT AND SHARE IT BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU! LIKE YOU’LL BE FORCED TO LISTEN TO NAMATA FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! just kidding… but really, watch it and then share it… or else…

Basically they went around the world, recording different musicians on the streets singing and playing instruments and then the mixed it into this masterpiece of modern music.

“Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.”

Reminds me of the classic “We Are The World” except it’s not by superstars, just regular but good musicians.
If you’re reminiscing like I did watch the video here:
